Itxaro Latasa, is Professor at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, (School of Architecture). Degree in geography at the University of Zaragoza and PhD by the University of Aix-Marseille.
She teaches at Fundamentals of Architecture degree, on the following subjects: Urbanism, Spatial Planning, Landscape, Urban Ecosystems and Geographic Information Systems applied to aforementioned subjects.
She is part of two Consolidate Research Groups, financed in public calls, open and competitive calls, by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (GOBEFTER, CSO2016-78169-R) and by the Basque Government (Consolidated Research Group EKOPOL (IT1365).
She is a member of the LURRALDEON team, comprising researchers from the Basque country (UPV/EHU). As such she has taken part in different research projects and numerous contracts of knowledge transfer (Ten projects from 2015-2019).
She is a member of the interprofessional Association FUNDICOT and of its Board of Directors.
She is part of the PhD program in Society, Politics and Culture.
Currently, her research is focused on the following lines:
-Town planning, Territorial Planning and Governance
-Landscape and Sustainability
-The transverse space of the Geography and Architecture
