PhD in Computer Science by the UPV/EHU in 1991 and extraordinary doctoral award in 1993. Professor in the Computer Architecture and Technology Department since 1986.
More than 30 years of teaching and research experience.
She is currently member of the IXA research Group on Natural Language Processing since 2002. She has published more than 35 peer-reviewed articles in NLP and Machine Learning topics, mainly in the areas of coreference, Semantic Role Labeling, temporal information, text categorization... The publications include journals indexed by the Journal Citation Report, and papers on top conferences of NLP. She has participated in several European projects and Spanish National projects. She has directed 3 doctoral theses. She has participated in more than 40 projects and contracts in the area of Natural Language Processing
She was visiting academic for one month at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL)
She was coordinator of the Language Analysis and Processing master (HAP/LAP), in the area of language technologies, from 2012 to 2019 and from 2012 to 2022 she was the head of the Computer Architecture and Technology Department.
