Bachelor and PhD in Economics (UPV / EHU). Catalina Gálvez has developed research activities in various areas. Among them, highlight the labor market and economic policy, which occupies an important part of its publications. The sectoral analysis initiated as a result of his doctoral thesis is another line of research that he has developed in subsequent works. Urban regeneration and the economy of culture has also been a relevant area of the research carried out. At present, several studies conducted from the gender perspective focus their main research activity. The research carried out in the different areas has been manifested in the publication of articles and book chapters, both in national and international journals and editorials. He has also given lectures, courses and seminars on these matters. Parallel to the development of this research process, it has participated in different research projects, financed both by national organizations (UPV, Basque Government, MINECO) and international (European Commission) within the VII Framework Program of the EU.
With regard to teaching, in the 5 degrees that are currently offered at the Faculty of Economics and Business of Bilbao, he teaches the subjects Introduction to Economics I: Principles of Microeconomics and Introduction to Economics II: Principles of Macroeconomy.
