Overview

Otxandio, June 2026

The Microfluidics Cluster UPV/EHU works on micro- and nanotechnologies for Lab-on-a-Chip applications at the University of the Basque Country. Its activity focuses on applied and translational research in micro- and nanotechnologies. By combining microfluidics, sensors and actuators, the Cluster develops integrated microsystems with applications in biomedical diagnostics, environmental analysis, chemistry, sport science, biology and medicine.

The Microfluidics Cluster UPV/EHU is a multidisciplinary team of chemists, biologists and engineers, working in close collaboration with sport and environmental scientists, medical doctors and industry. Its main research lines include microfluidics, smart materials for sensing and actuation, surface engineering and microsystem integration.

The Cluster's facilities are located at the Faculty of Pharmacy and at the Lucio Lascaray Research Centre, on the Álava Campus of the University of the Basque Country in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain.
