Biography
Jon Mercader is originally from Vitoria-Gasteiz. He is a Biomedical Engineer from University of Mondragón, doing his Master Degree in Forensic Analysis at the UPV/EHU. He finished his Master in Forensic Analysis in 2019.
His Master Research Work deals with the development of body biosensors to improve physical performance.
Research
Jon was awarded with one of the fellowships from UPV/EHU "Formación de Personal Investigador con instituciones y empresa 2019". Jon will carry out his PhD at the Microfluidics Cluster UPV/EHU and at UCA, Unidad de Cirugía Artroscópica (Arthroscopic Surgery Unit) in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain.
He will develop microfluidics platforms for blood separation. The development of this device will represent an advance in personalized medicine, enabling obtaining enriched plasma in a simple, autonomous and cheap way.
