READ WITH MEE
Read with Multilingual Early Education is an Erasmus + KA2 project to promote early multilingual reading.
Researchers:
Eider Saragueta (IP), Oihana Leonet (IP), Elizabet Arocena and Ana Campos
Period:
From 2024 to 2026
Description:
The project has two aims: on the one hand, to support interactive and dialogic reading with young multilingual children, especially in languages that receive little attention in educational settings; and on the other hand, to create innovative digital content for children using game-based learning. For that end, we are developing:
- A handbook that informs readers about inclusive multiliteracy development.
- A series of short videos in which experts explain concepts related to interactive and dialogic reading.
- A set of videos displaying good practices in interactive and dialogic reading.
- An interactive and multilingual game for children aged 2 to 6 to play with an adult
- An online library with multilingual and inclusive books.
The project is coordinated by the Mercator European Research Centre, hosted at the Fryske Akademy in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. Similarly, the research group from the UPV/EHU Donostia Research group on Education and Multilingualism (DREAM) is working in collaboration with NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands), ATiT (Belgium), Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) and 8D games (The Netherlands).
