Koldobika Meso Ayerdi is senior lecturer and head of Department of Journalism II at the University of the Basque Country (Spain). He is PhD in Journalism from the University of the Basque Country. He is member of a couple of research groups: one in Basque Country, Gureiker, and a Spanish Group funded by the Ministry of Education, called Infotendencias.
Co-author of the first book on online journalism in Spain. He works on online and digital journalism, including convergence, active audience and online journalism, digital language and news reporting. He supervisesfour PhD dissertations. He is also a specialist on research methods applied to communication, a subject taught at the Master’s Degree in Social Communication, University of the Basque Country (he imparts Theories and methodology of research in online journalism).
He has been a visiting researcher at the University Federal of Bahia (Brazil), among others. He coordinated, with professor Marcos Palacios, from the Group of Research on Online Journalism, of the University Federal of Bahia (UFBA) a research network Brazil-Spain that was conducting a comparative study of online daily journals.
He participates in other national and international research projects funded by the UPV/EHU and the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO) and the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).
