Dr Noemi Peña is Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) where she earned her PhD in Business for Innovation and Internacionalization. She has also published several articles on social protection benefits models and indicators of financial information systems for improving efficiency, effectiveness and transparency. Extraordinary Doctoral Awards in 2016 for a proposal for a financial information system of a basic social benefit. . She has worked as a Financial Administration Manager in companies in the service sector specializing in promoting social welfare. She was the professor responsible for Mathematics and Introduction to Statistics at the European Business School and the professor responsible for Corporate Finance at the European Business School (ESEUNE) in the Master in Business Administration (MBA) program. She conducts her teaching and research activity on welfare, social security, finance and accounting. She has published papers and books on welfare in journals such as Social Indicators Research, Basic Income Studies or Poverty and Public Policy.
