Senior Lecturer and researcher at the University of the Basque Country, since 1988. Previously he worked as a Journalist at ETB (the Basque National TV Station) and has collaborated with several written and audiovisual media. In 1982, was graduated in Journalism at the UPV/EHU and obtained his doctorate at the same university in 1995.
He teaches subjects related to radio, television and internet programming and how the offer is constructed, analyzes the content and evaluates the audiences of media. He has published several books and articles on programming and participates in academic events on these topics.
As a researcher has studied the influence of the media on identity and language, particularly in the cases of minority languages; digital media and its audiences and, in recent years, on the one hand, has taken part in the study and production of transmedia productions (“Korrika”, “Emusik” and” “Tirabirak”) and, on the other, the measurement and analysis of the audience using a media panel.
He is a member of the NOR research group and works on several research projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education and the University of the Basque Country.
