JUAN SOROETA LICERAS is Lecturer of Public International Law and International Relations at the UPV/EHU, President of AIODH (International Association for the Observation of Human Rights), President of the Institute of International Studies of the Basque Country Francisco de Vitoria, and Director since 1997 of the Human Rights Courses of Donostia San Sebastian and the Yearbook of these courses. He's also codirector of the Courses of International Law and International Relations of Vitoria-Gasteiz. He has held the positions of Secretary (1996-2000) and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of the Basque Country (2006-2012) and Director of Culture of the Campus of Gipuzkoa (2000-2004). Extraordinary Prize of Doctorate od 2001.

Since his Doctoral Thesis has been required as a specialist on numerous occasions in relation to the conflict in Western Sahara, in different frameworks and universities such as the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid, University of A Coruña, University of Alicante, University of Barcelona, University of Castilla-La Mancha, University Jaume I of Castellón, University of Deusto, University of Lleida, University of Tarragona, University of the Balearic Islands, universidad Complutense of Madrid, University of Granada, University of Jaén, University of Malaga, University of Tenerife, University of Deusto, University of Oslo, University of Bergen, University of Colgate (New York)
