Patxi Juaristi (Markina-Xemein, 1967) is Ph. D. in Sociology and member of the Department of Political Science and Administration of the University of the Basque Country. Since 2017 is the Vicerrector of the Biscay Campus.
Among other academic roles, he has been member of the Ethics Committee of the university from 2009 to 2016.
Patxi Juaristi’s research interests mainly focus on world languages and Basque culture and language. He has participated in various research projects in these fields, resulting in several publications.
Fields of speciality: B.A. in Political Science and Sociology, University of Deusto (1990). PhD. in Sociology, University of Deusto (1995).
Postgraduate Grants
- Grant of the Basque Government to complete a Ph.D. in Sociology at the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology at the University of Deusto (Bilbao) (1990-1993).
- Grant of the Basque Government (1992) to conduct research at the following universities abroad: University of Wales-Bangor (Great Britain) and London School of Economics and Politics (Great Britain).
