CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
Political decisions influence drivers of global change. These drivers of change can cause changes in ecosystems, and therefore, affect the flow of services they provide to society. These services are the basis of human well-being and their proper functioning depends on the economic, social, cultural and political future of human societies, so their conservation is a priority.
In this sense, the Green Infrastructure defined by the European Strategy as “a strategically planned network of natural and semi-natural spaces and other environmental elements designed and managed to offer a wide range of ecosystem services” emerges as a sustainable alternative to achieve this objective.
