Description:

This project aims to work with secondary school students in the field of natural and social sciences by creating didactic tools to develop core academic language skills (CALS) through an intervention based on pedagogical translanguaging.

To this end, a multi-curricular approach was adopted, allowing teachers of the three curricular languages (Basque, Spanish, and English) to work in coordination with science teachers. Using a mixed quasi-experimental design, the effects of the intervention on academic text comprehension and on CALS were analyzed. The project helped to raise awareness of the importance of addressing linguistic content across all curricular areas.
