• APPLICATION (pre-registration): Apply for a place on one of the doctoral programmes offered by the University of the Basque Country (EHU), following the steps outlined in the Application (pre-registration) section of the Doctoral School’s website (DOKe). You will need to upload the required documentation to the GAUR platform.

• ADMISSION: The DOKe (or Doctoral School) will confirm whether you have been accepted within approximately three weeks of the application deadline (open from 15 June to 25 September 2026). Consult the procedure for admissions (and appeals to rejections) here.

To enrol on the doctoral programme you have been admitted for, follow the steps below: 

• BOOK YOUR PLACE (CONFIRMATION): 

1. You will receive an email from the EHU, notifying you whether you have been accepted onto the doctoral programme. 
    
2. ​​​​​Reserve your place via the link included in the email, which will take you to a page where you should click on the option to ratify the place ("ratificar"), in order for the DOKe to then perform your enrolment. ​​​​​​
    
3. Submit the documentation to the DOKe in person or by post (only if necessary; the administrative contact of your PhD programme will ask you to provide the original documents). You can do this in person –at any of the DOKe offices –see our offices' location here– by post, or via Spanish embassies or consulates.

• REGISTRATION by DOKe:

1. DOKe will proceed to process the enrolment of those candidates who have confirmed their place (by reserving their place).
   
2. You will receive an email with your username (known as the 'LDAP') and password which you can use to access online EHU services.
    

• ​​​REGISTER AND PAY THE FEES:
   
  • Log onto the GAUR platform (available in Spanish and Basque languages) with your username and password and download the document to pay the tuition fees.

• Once you have made the payment, you can download your enrolment confirmation by logging onto GAUR.
