I graduated in German Philology in 2007 from the UPV/EHU, and obtained my PhD within the program 'Language Acquisition in Multilingual Settings' from the UPV/EHU in 2013 (International PhD, Outstanding Thesis Award).

I have carried out a predoctoral visiting research stay of three months (in 2012) at the University of Melbourne (Australia), and a postdoctoral research stay of two and a half years (2014-2016) at Curtin University (Perth, Australia). Since January 2019 I work as an assistant professor of English (Department of English and German Studies and Translation and Interpreting) at the Faculty of Arts in the UPV/EHU. I have previously worked as a lecturer of German in the same department, the Faculty of Humanities and Education Science (HUHEZI) at Mondragon University (HUHEZI), and the Faculty of Education at the UPV/EHU (Campus Bizkaia).

My research focuses on collaborative work and task-based interaction with adults and children in EFL and ESL settings. I am also interested in the role of different variables such as age, gender, motivation or instructional setting in the opportunities for language learning.

My work has been published in well-known journals such as Language Teaching Research, TESOL Quarterly or Annual Review of Applied Linguistics, among others.
