Degree in Biology at the Complutense University (2011). International Doctoral thesis

with the qualification of " Outstanding Cum Laude" (2019) and awarded by the University

of Basque Country as Extraordinary Doctoral Award in 2022. Currently working as a

postdoctoral researcher at the University of Basque Country, awarded by the postdoctoral

Research Improvement funding provided by Basque Government during 4 years (2020-2024):

24 months abroad at the Coimbra Institute for Clinical and Biomedical Research (iCBR),

University of Coimbra, Portugal and 24 months at the University of Basque Country.

I have been working for 8 years in the line of research “ Neuroprotection in the Retina by

studying the molecular interactions between RGCs and Glial cells" in which I mainly developed

my doctoral thesis. The fundamental aim of my research is the proper understanding of the

responses of Müller cells in the diseased retina, and their protective role and the development

of a therapeutic strategy that stimulates the activity of glial cells and in particular, Müller

cells to promote protection to retinal neurons affected by different ocular pathologies such

as glaucoma.
