Esther Uria Iriarte is a professor at the University of the Basque Country, within the Department of Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education. Currently, he collaborates in the research project “School Improvement from a Gender Perspective at Centres in the Basque Autonomous Community” (PGC2018-094124-B-I00, MCIU/AEI/FEDER, UE). In addition, she is member of research group called “GANDERE-Gender Socialitation and Educational Contests” (IT1262-19; GIC18/84). She has collaborated in the research project "Longitudinal and contextualized study of very high and very low efficacy schools: design of actions for school improvement" (EDU2014-53511-P) developed between 2014-2018.

She got a scholarship as a predoctoral researcher to develop her international thesis that integrated theatre, education, and coexistence. In this context of research, he made a stay at the University of Victoria in Canada.

Following this line of research, since 2017 coordinates the educational project Being part of the creative process driven by the Union of Basque Actors and subsidized by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia.

Currently, chairs the association (unea) Association of Performing Arts of the University.

She combines her formative and research activity conducting training related to theatre as an educational tool.
