Degree (1988) and Doctor in Biological Sciences (Extraordinary Award, 1992) by the UPV/EHU. Postdoctoral training at the Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Munich (3 months) and at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Univ. of Würzburg, Germany (11 months). Associate Professor since 2008 (Dept. Pharmacology, UPV / EHU). Experience area: Neuropsychopharmacology and Neurobiology of mental illness. Experience in biochemical/molecular techniques such as cell fractionation, biochemical and functional study of receptors and their signaling, and in the application of behavioral techniques in animal models of mental illness in rodents. Author of 26 publications (19 in the first quartile), and 3 book chapters. h Index=15. Four research “sexenio” recognized by the CNEAI. Research collaborator in 36 competitive projects (PI in 1) and in 8 contracts with companies. Direction of 2 Doctoral Thesis, 8 Master's Thesis and a 1 Final Degree Project. Teaching in Medicine Degree (UPV/EHU) and in the Official Master's Degrees in “Pharmacology. Development, evaluation and rational use of medicines” (UPV/EHU), “Molecular Biology and Biomedicine” (UPV/EHU) and “Initiation to Research in Mental Health” (CIBERSAM), and in the Doctorate Program in Pharmacology (UPV/EHU). Member of CIBERSAM and of the Biocruces Bizkaia Health Research Institute.
