Graduated in English Philology (1993) at the University of the Basque Country, she obtained a Master in the syntax of present-day English from the University of Edinburgh in 1997. In 2004 she graduated in German Philology at the University of the Basque Country and in 2016 she obtained her PhD in Linguistics from the same university.



She has been a Professor of German, English and Linguistics in the Department of English and German Philology at the University of the Basque Country since the year 2000. In the academic year 2012/13, she was invited professor at the University of Konstanz, where she taught a course on Spanish Linguistics. In the academic years 2017/18 and 2018/2019 she taught two courses as part of the programme of the Master in Theoretical Linguistics (UPV/EHU).





From 2004 to 2006 she participated in the research project Linguistic Theory funded by the University of the Basque Country. In 2017 she became a member of the consolidated research group Hizkuntzalaritza Teorikoko Taldea (Theoretical Linguistics Group) at the same university.



Her research centers on syntactic theory with special interest in the syntactic analysis of ellipsis phenomena from a cross-linguistic perspective.
