Description and contextualization of the subject

This subject is a compulsory subject in the Master in Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment which aims to introduce the students to the local culture. In this subject the student will be familiarised with the Basque language and culture. The students will learn basic Basque through an entertaining task-based communicative language teaching, focused on speaking. Course objectives include the acquisition of basic vocabulary, syntax, and pronunciation by traditional means and/or through the use of digital resources. Another important goal of this course is to introduce the Basque culture by means of projects and activities. After completing this course, the students will be able to handle, in a simple but clear manner on familiar topics in the context of study, life, hobbies etc. and will be able to experience the local culture of the Basque Country.
