Karin van der Worp holds a cum laude international doctoral degree from the University of the Basque Country. Her current work examines multilingualism in the workplace and in education. She has presented her work at national and international conferences and has published several articles in international academic journals, among which: Van der Worp, K., Cenoz, J. & Gorter, D. (2017). From bilingualism to multilingualism in the workplace: the case of the Basque Autonomous Community. Language Policy(16), 407–432, and Van der Worp, K. (2017). English Medium Instruction: a way towards linguistically better prepared professionals in the Basque Autonomous Community? International Journal of Multilingualism, 14(1), 53-68.



Her research interests include multilingualism in the workplace, minority languages and foreign language acquisition. She holds a master’s degree in teaching Spanish language and culture as well as a cum laude master’s degree in applied linguistics, from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Furthermore, she has experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language and writing Spanish course books.



At this moment she works as a professor at the Department of Educational Sciences, at the Faculty of Education, Philosophy and Anthropology. She teaches courses in the bachelor degrees of Pedagogy and Social Education as well as in the European Master in Education and Multilingualism
